![]() ECA is the voice for Alabama's Electric Cities |
For the purpose of statewide unity of Alabama’s electric cities, ECA makes every effort to achieve consensus among its member utilities and become the voice of Alabama’s electric cities.
Activities are facilitated by ECA staff to bring representatives of member cities together with their elected officials throughout the year. These activities develop a better working relationship between electric cities and their respective legislators, as well as other elected officials. To this end, ECA provides the following services to its members:
ECA works with the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) legislative staff to support any legislative efforts that effect ECA’s membership. This activity includes communications and contacts with the Alabama congressional delegation, urging their support of the Electric Cities legislative agenda within Alabama and the nation.
ECA coordinates the Alabama electric cities’ activities in conjunction with the APPA Legislative Rally. We make appointments with the Alabama congressional delegation and coordinate with other groups to prevent duplication of activities.
