ECA serves as the mutual aid coordinator for 36 municipal electric utilities across the state of Alabama. Should the need arise, ECA will also coordinate all out-of-state requests and response to natural disasters.

Governmental Affairs

Through federal, state, and local regulations, as well as proposed legislation, ECA strives to ensure member cities can continue to provide reliable and low-cost public power.

ECA provides members with several publications to enhance public relations and communications of public power within the state of Alabama.

Federal and state activities are facilitated by the ECA staff bringing representatives of member cities together with the appropriate elected officials throughout the year. These activities aid in developing a better working relationship between electric cities, federal, state and local officials.
